The Black Marble Tanto

Description

What was supposed to be a simple little project quickly turned into a piece of artwork in it’s own right. I have recently been fascinated with using stone in my knife making process. This piece seemed like a great opportunity to make a blade in a different style while utilizing that same intriguing concept. This is one of those really fun projects because it looks absolutely terrible all the way up until that transformative moment when you buff everything, and then suddenly it’s stunning. The blade is made form high carbon stainless steel, and the handle and sheath are made of beautiful black marble inlaid in brass.

As I have said of all of my stone handle knives (aka DISCLAIMER): this knife’s handle is EXTREMELY FRAGILE! This is intended to be a display piece at the very most. Although it is still entirely functional, it is not meant to be used in any capacity.
